About Cross Training Camps

Long Story Short,
This Is What We Do.

The late Billy Graham once said "A coach will impact more people in one year than the average person will in an entire lifetime." Truth be told, everyone has a role in impacting the next generation, not just coaches. But over the years we've found that sports serves as an incredible platform to reach into the life of athletes, coaches and parents. In a nutshell, we not only train athletes physically, but far more importantly, grow them spiritually.

#Mission

The goal of what we do is so simple. Provide elite instruction to athletes on the field of competition while teaching life changing faith principles off the field of competition. In short, we help athletes find success in both their sports and faith life.

But God, Who's gonna go to that?

It's funny how God communicates dreams to people. Some receive a vision. Others have friends speak truth into their life. For this ministry, it started on a napkin during a discussion over lunch in the winter of 1994. The subject of that afternoon was ministry and the idea of sharing Christ through the platform of sports. In short order, the dreams of a Christian basketball camp had life. Armed with excitement we began sharing our dream with people. Little did we realize, the excitement to the idea would not be mutual. Who's gonna go to that”, many would question. "why are you combining sports and God?", others asked.

Fortunately we pressed forward despite the initial response. and what started as a half-day 74 athlete basketball camp has blossomed into a full-fledged sports ministry working with thousands of athletes on and off the court. "Who's going to go to that?", the world questioned. "Everyone", God responded.

Testimonial

"I'm so grateful that my kids have had the opportunity to be a part of Cross Training. This ministry knows how to reach kids, surround them with a faith family, and guide them towards a relationship with Jesus. They also happen to provide top-notch instruction and practice experience in basketball, football and volleyball."

Your True Identity.

Child of the living God

At Cross Training, we believe your true identity in this life is not as an athlete. An athlete is what you do, a follower of Christ is who you are. You are first and foremost a child of the living God (Galatians 3:26). You are an anointed saint destined to be a world changer.

Bible

The Bible says, "But the anointing that you received from Him abides in you, and you have no need that anyone should teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about everything, and is true, and is no lie–just as it has taught you, abide in Him." (1 John 2:27)

Ambassador

He has gifted you to be an ambassador for the cause of the gospel. A representative of Jesus. A person who brings to light the sacrifice of the cross and the hope it offers. Teaching the world that His resurrection from the grave not only brought Him to life but will spiritually bring them to life as well.

Heart

So when you lace up your shoes, put on your cleats, pull on your swim cap or dawn your uniform, don’t be misled. The name on your jersey is the visual sign of the sports team you "play on", but the name on your heart is the consecrated evidence of the Savior you "play for."

Cross Training is a non-denominational, Christ-centered sports ministry based out of Bismarck, North Dakota. For over two decades, Cross Training has ministered to tens of thousands of kids through camps, mission trips, discipleship groups and our I PLAY FOR HIM digital platform.

As an athlete who honors God, your legacy has the potential to go far beyond the field of competition. It can actually extend to the heavens, and be remembered by the Creator himself.
